My hunter has been running with the same ranged weapon transmog for a while now – the Steelhawk Crossbow which dropped from Attumen the Huntsman whilst I was mount farming.

It was starting to feel somewhat old & my hunter felt she wanted a change. She looked around at various bows which are available, but what really caught her eye was the Vengeful Gladiator’s Longbow, a PvP bow from the Burning Crusade. Not only is it a rather unusual bow and quite pretty, its also cheap at just 750 honor (or 1500JP).

Then the question became – what else to go with it. And that’s where I hit a bit of a roadblock – I poked at a few things, but nothing jumped out. The Black Dragon Mail set had promise, but it didn’t really gel.

So I asked The Godmother if she’d be able to take a look.

So then came the fun of farming it all.

The first thing I found was the chest suggested was one of the BoP profession bonus-style items blacksmiths get & unfortunately my hunter is a leatherworker/skinner. Fortunately there are two quests which reward an item with the same model, so I found myself picking mushrooms on Bloodmyst Isle to get Jessera’s Fungus Lined Hauberk.

Time taken: around 15mins, most of which was travelling around.

The next item was the blue linen shirt – that was nice & quick as I’ve got a couple of tailors.

Time taken: around 5mins, most of which was finding which bank I’d stashed some linen cloth in!

Since my hunter is a leatherworker & I tend to be a professions completionist, she knew the recipe for Crafted Malevolent Gladiator’s Chain Helm already and even had the mats to hand!

I then poked Lady Vashj and Fathom-Lord Karathress in SSC, neither of whom dropped the items wanted. Although I was amused at how large Lady Vashj ends up getting when you ignore most of the small elementals which buff her.
