My post Soloing in a 6.0 world has been rather popular, most likely as a lot of people found as I did that the hidden buff you get when in an old raid instance made soloing much easier.
However that was when the chars I was doing the soloing on where in at least Seige of Orgrimmar gear, ranging from normal to mythic level.
Now we’re at 100, whilst we’ll have more primary stats the normal change to how combat ratings are converted to their percentage stats has occured so our characters will not have the same percentage of haste, mastery or crit we had before.
Will this impact the soloing at level 100 in early expansion gear?
The testing was done with my shadow priest who has an ilvl of 644 and is using CoP. As before, the instances were run so that mounts would drop.
Having run the following:
- Ulduar 25 – joys of working towards Val’anyr otherwise I’d have just run Ulduar 10 and switched to 25 at Yoggy
- Icecrown Citadel 10, then doing Lich King on heroic 25
- Throne of the Four Winds
- Dragonsoul 10
I can say that on my shadowpriest with the gear he has there was no real impact from being in beginning of expansion gear – the increase in primary stats outweighing the drop in secondary ones.
Some fights were faster. Some were slower, but only by a second or so.
Havent tried soloing DS in a while. Is heroic still not possible due to the debuff (excluding the warlock imp-sac method)?
Been running HC DS10 for a while now; easy on my shadowpriest, Blood DK & Retri pala. The blood debuff is pretty much ignorable at 100.
My BM Hunter was ouchie though – she was only lvl95 though & the pet seemed to have bad interactions.
Really? So the debuff does negligible dmg as opposed to %hp or one shot?
As a lvl 96 or higher I tend to see “Missed” when the debuff goes off :)
